Good GPS Golf Gadget
This is a nice gadget that works well and I recommend it. I’ve used it on two different courses with numerous obstacles and these are well mapped. I found all distances to be very accurate when I compared them against the course’s surveyed markers. The big plus though is that you don’t have to look for those markers plus Sonocaddie provides information that the markers alone cannot provide, like “how far to that creek that runs in front of the green on a par 5 hole” which helps in my lay-up club selection.

The display shows obstacles to the left, right, and in the fairway using easy to understand icons. A large button on the side lets you switch back and forth between an overview display, which shows all the obstacles and distances for that hole, and a close-up display of the distances to the front, center, and back of the green. The display is easier to see outdoors in daylight than indoors under artificial light. The yardage numbers on the overview display are a bit small which requires me to have my reading glasses with me to see them clearly but younger players will have no trouble.

The menus are logical, well laid out, consistent, and easy to navigate. The left small button is used to back out of menus, although a few displays don’t include the “ESC” (escape) annotation. The buttons themselves have a good feel to them and always work. They appear to be high-quality buttons that will last a long time.

Sonocaddie comes with a belt clip that is spring-loaded to attach easily to your belt or waistband. It snaps onto the belt clip with a reassuring click and will not come loose. However, the clip itself has some tendency to work its way loose from the belt, but I suspect this is only a problem for those of us who are, uh, fat. A button on top of the clip releases it easily.

It’s easy to add a new obstacle or edit one that was downloaded. Just stand at the location you want to mark, select edit, use the arrow buttons to select a position on the screen, select an icon for your obstacle, and then press record. It’s easier to do than to read about doing it. At some point it asks you if you want to save the change.

There are numerous courses listed in their database and there is no subscription required, a big plus in my opinion And it holds 20 courses with 18 holes and 6 obstacles for each hole. A comment to another posting indicates that Sonocaddie will map a course for you on request. Course downloads work but are a little quirky. You might have to retry, back out of the download menu and reenter it, restart Sonocaddie, reboot your computer, etc. It’s hard to know exactly what to do when a download fails except to keep at it. I was, however, able to download 18 courses without too much trouble.

You can enter in your score for each hole and Sonocaddie will add them up for the arithmetic-challenged It has the par and handicap information for each hole and it would be nice if you could enter the player’s handicap and let Sonocaddie calculate the net score but it doesn’t do this.

All in all Sonocaddie is a good device and I recommend it. I am not affiliated with Sonocaddie in any way except that I’m an owner/user.

Sonocaddie – Great Product – Outstanding Customer Support
I wrote a review on this product when it first hit the market over a year ago. Not sure where that review went but I’ve got an update. The product initially impressed me because of its ease of use, capability – it stores 20 courses, and the no-membership/download costs. When I first got my Sonocaddie I had to input my own data, available local courses were lacking. Well, in 11 months hundreds of courses all over the US have become available for download. When I’m on the course with my playing partners everyone checks with me for distance to the pin/green. The accuracy is great, wish my ball striking ability were only half as good! After almost 11 months of near flawless performance my Sonocaddie went to a dark screen with the application features barely visible. Initially I assumed a battery issue; but switching to fresh batteries didn’t fix my problem. After describing my problem to DENNCO, the US Distributor, they instructed me to ship my Sonocaddie to them, insured, for there evaluation. I was elated when I received a new replacement unit in less than 12 days. It is clear DENNCO understands customer service and stands by their product’s 1 year warranty. I highly recommended this item almost a year ago and now I recommend both the product and its US Supplier. RonO

Easy to use Golf GPS Rangefinder – No Subscription Needed
I just purchased a SONOCADDIE GPS Rangefinder and after going to their website to download my favorite courses, the only thing I was able to download were the holes with handicap and para ratings. So, that meant I was forced to go to a course and attempt to record signicant course landmarks as well as “record” front and back locations on each green. Turns out this process was a whole lot easier than I thought it would be. After posting “records” for about 3 holes, I circled back and was really impressed with the system accuracy, speed, reliablity and readability of this cell phone sized unit. Some other key features include the ability to hold settings for 20 courses. You can find other GPS units that my be easier to read or include more data relative to scoring or just recording your round for your foursome, but I don’t think you will find one that is any simpler to operate. Not having an annual subscription was another plus for me.

Camera good but problem with lens
The camera body is great and I enjoy it. But the EF28-135 IS USM zoom died after only six weeks. The diaphragm somehow became dislodged while I was manually focusing the lens, and now it rattles around inside and the lens is unusable. I’ll need to return it under warranty, but fortunately already had other lenses that fit the camera so I haven’t been in a hurry.

Canon 40D body
I ordered a 40D for my Alaska vacation; didn’t want to take my 5D, wanted faster frames-per-second for shooting wildlife and the 1.6 sensor factor for added telephoto reach.
The camera worked great. I really liked the sensor cleaning feature, which cut down a ton on spots in the blue Alaskan sky. The 6.5 fps helped capture eagles in flight and running bears, too.
And the low light capability was put to the test on a couple of dark, overcast days. The camera excelled.
I’m very happy with the 40D, as it will serve alongside my other 40D and my 5D for my professional work.

40D vs 30D
I have a 30D and bought the 40D as a 2nd Camera. I like the 40D in terms of color and quality. The thing I do not like about it is that you cannot change the ISO in P/TV/AV mode like on the 30D. It does have great stability when shooting close-up items. I get good clarity. The colors are more vibrant. It seems like Canon was trying to make it think more for you. I prefer to set my own settings in other modes than in M. I do have to fudge with the exposure more in low light situations. Overall, I like it, but would consider a better upgrade in the future.

This TV is perfect for the bedroom. I used to have a 20 year old 19″ Sharp but when it finally died I replaced it with this 22″. Great watch (review by a novice nyc runner)
I did my research and bought the watch on amazon. Other reviewers have gone in extensively on the other multitude of advanced features so I won’t even gloss over those.

I am a novice runner and this is my first GPS watch. Personally I had only one simple, primary concern as I would be using this for my outdoor training:

Can the watch accurately measure my distance outdoors?

That’s all I really cared about as I can calculate pace on my own from that and time accuracy is already a given. The answer is yes. I ran a 4-mile qualifier race in central park this past sunday and the Forerunner registered in at 4.05. That’s pretty good by any measure, taking to account the paths relatively wide and there’s ample room to cut/swing wide so I’m happy with that.

I have not had any problems with signals outdoors. Once you go indoors though i can guarantee it will be lost instantly – but that’s no concern to me.

The pace indicator jumps and swings wildly but that is forgivable if you understand that it needs to calculate from a past point of reference. When you download your stats, you will see that the pace graph swings the most during the start of your run. That said, the average trend is pretty clear and I could see my pace slowly decreasing the further I ran. It’s a good tool for estimating and guiding your pace, but wouldn’t rely on it if you’re looking for accuracy in this area.

It’s “bulky” but light as a feather. It’s “thick” more than anything – but not enough to look weird in your running attire. Needless to say, not something to wear on your dinner date.

All in all, it fulfilled my simple criteria and also offers a multitude of other features described in other reviews. I’m happy with my purchase.

Garman 305
I have used this for both running and mountain biking. It has been a very helpful training tool. So far I have used it more for running, it has work great. If you are looking for a heart rate monitor and gps in one unit I would recommend this.

Garmin GPS & HR monitor
This is a great tool for running. Keeps detailed data for each run: pace, heart rate, distance..etc. My favorite thing though is that you can upload the data onto your computer and see a detailed map (on google maps) of your running route. This is really user friendly and there are a lot of different ways to preprogram the watch to your specific needs.

Overall: awesome!

Works great for me
Set it up manually without disc and easy as can be. Good signal, staying connected with 2 laptops, Xbox 360,Wii and wireless printer. Also using shareport and no problems. Exactly what I wanted so 5 stars from me.

Hard to set up.
Very hard to set up. I had to call in a computer LAN expert and in the end he had to go online to tech support. It works great once it’s set up.

adapters becouse it broke only to upgrade to a faster speed
from 802a 802b 802g super-g now N they have never let me down

it is to scale with the rest of the figures but dont be fooled by the number of movable parts. They count the spikes on the back as movable parts. Also it can not be put into the classic position as from the game.

I was so happy to finally get my Hunter in the mail, as after the usual opening process, I discovered that his back spikes required self installation. After literally 10 minutes of attempting to get a single spike in his back, I decided to let it be. The joints are highly flexible, and you can make almost any pose with him as you would see within the Halo games.

Yes, the one you’ve been hunting for…
This is one heck of a sculpt and paint job. And it’s a sturdy, heavy piece: easily holding an Elite or other enemy up for an action pose. There’s a great deal of articulation overall – including the “toes” and end of the fuel rod gun. Even the packaging is fairly handsome and display worthy.
A couple of smaller minuses – Although there’s a lot of articulation, it’s still at about the same level as the other figures in the series. My first impulse was to set it up in the “defensive crouch” position, but this just didn’t seem possible. And the (removable for a Scorpion-blasted look) back spikes were literally a pain to put in. Be careful.
These are extremely small setbacks with the overall quality in mind, though.
If you like Hunters, or simply want a kingpin piece to set off your collection, this figure is easily worth the few extra bucks. In perfect scale and on the money.

Canon Wireless $400, This Equally Good for $80
I was tempted – I really needed a remote release, and the Canon is a nice setup. But it’s 5x as much money. So I read the reviews here and they’re all correct – this thing does exactly what it says. One button for focus, one for release; or, press the release halfway and focus, press harder to shoot. You can use it as a wired cable release too, without using any battery power.

Mine came fully charged. The indicator lights all work, the manual (one page) isn’t much but it tells you the functions. What more do you need?

The antenna is the old-style telescoping deal, but I haven’t needed to pull it out yet. The system works without a hitch from 40′ feet away through an apartment wall.

Somebody mentioned a slight delay between the button press and the shot. I haven’t noticed it. If it’s there it’s a fraction of a second.

I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on the Canon. I love my 40D and I stick with their brand for most accessories, but I won’t buy their filters and I’m glad I didn’t buy their wireless remote. Just no reason to pay more.

Good product, dependable for field use
I’ve been using this remote trigger a lot for live band performances – there are often cases where I’d like to get some shots (for example, of the drummer who is often in the back) from the stage but can’t get up there to do the job.

All I need to do now is square it with the band, and place a second camera up on the stage, off to the side, pointed where I want it. I then use the remote trigger to fire off a sequence of shots while standing in the crowd and shooting with the primary camera.

The remote has proven to be dependable despite it’s “cheap” feel. A blue LED lights up on the base to verify that it received the command from the remote, useful if you are in a loud environment or out of earshot, and can’t here the shutter trip.

Although I haven’t had to take this on any trips yet, I’d recommend checking this with your luggage if you plan on taking a flight. The remote control looks an awful lot like a detonator that you’d see in the movies. Especially with the little antenna on it. Might not cause a problem, but it’s hard enough getting through security with a lot of camera gear in your carry-on, why exacerbate the problem?

WR-C100 Wireless Review
I own a Canon XSi camera. The wireless remote works fine. I haven’t been able to use it at any distance yet because of our lousy weather in the mid-west but it worked just fine from the basement to the upstairs bedrooms. Great Tasting Low Carb Bars – Recommended!
The “Atkins Caramel Nut Chew Endulge Bars” are a great tasting, low carb snack. Being diabetic, I have to watch my carbs and the Atkins bars are a great way for me to have a late night snack without sending my blood sugar levels too high.

These are my personal favorite, but my wife likes Endulge Bar Chocolate Covered Coconut 5 bars better.

These are somewhat pricey and a little on the small side, but so delicious. Each bar is only 1.2 ounces, perfect as a snack with a cup of coffee with only 2 net carbs per bar.

Caramel Nut Chew is a great product!
I have tried other bars of this sort, but this is the best bar I have tasted.
It does have caramel and nuts in it. I have bought numerous bars and will continue purchasing them.
